The Experiment

EXT. AN ABANDONED MILITARY COMPLEX
- Day
SAM
stands behind a plexiglass wall, adjusting his safety gear, eyes fixed on
55-gallon metal drum being heated up in the distance. He was creating a science
experiment video for YouTube.
SAM
Well it is only a matter of
time
before I spray the drum with
water.
He
waits a few more minutes with his gaze flicking between the 55-gallon metal drum
and a temperature gauge attached to the plexiglass wall in front of him.
SAM (CONT’D)
Ok I am stopping the heating
on the drum.
SAM flips a switch labeled “heating
element” then grabs a rope that is attached to a bucket, full of cool water,
over the metal drum.
SAM (CONT’D)
In three, two, one.
He
then yanks on the rope causing the bucket to tilt over and bump the water onto
the metal drum. The cool water causes the heated up 55-gallon metal drum to
crush itself as the metal contracts.
SAM (CONT’D)
HOLY CRAP.
(He jumps back a little
before writing something down)
Well just remember kids,
the only difference between Science and screwing around is writing it down.
SAM then turns to the camera
and gives a thumbs up.

Documentary Subject
The person I am interesting in interviewing is my boss Pat McCauslin, Superintendent of Landscape Services. The interview could fit in a documentary as a voice of the video. The interview would initially take place in Pat’s office and it would switch between showing the employees working and him as he talked.
Pat McCauslin, Superintendent of Landscape Services, is in charge of the group that takes care of all the public spaces on campus and the athletic group who take care of the athletic fields.
